Breastfeeding USA offers free gathering for pregnant and nursing mothers and their families, ranging from breastfeeding support meetings to informal monthly playgroups and other get-togethers. We hope you enjoy being a part of a community of mothers who are breastfeeding or hoping to someday. We are a very friendly, open group of people.
What happens at our meetings?
Our monthly breastfeeding support meetings are places where you can share the joys and struggles of nursing, get answers to your breastfeeding questions, and borrow a baby carrier or a book about breastfeeding, pregnancy, birth, or baby care. Pregnant mothers are encouraged to attend as well!
We love having lots of chances to get together and enjoy some adult conversation, so we have meetings of various stripes slotted for just about every Friday morning at 10:15 a.m. Our Nursing Moms Socials are purely social gatherings for nursing families and children with no structure or agenda. At each Topics Meeting, we have a group discussion of a different engaging topic about breastfeeding, birth, and babycare, such as: Child Spacing and Family Planning, Babywearing, Mental Health, Combining Work and Breastfeeding, Night-time Parenting, Birth Stories, and Baby Massage. On our Adventure Days, we might head to the Children's Museum, Holliday Park, the Art Museum, or another child-friendly Indianapolis destination. To find where we'll be for our next Adventure Day outing, please check for updates posted on our Facebook page, our chat group, and our email list.
